If You Lose the mp3s you purchased

Getting What You Pay For: The Stereognostic Web Store only sells one thing: songs from the new Stereognosis album, The Hybrid, as downloadable mp3s. We have included an interactive streaming mp3 player to allow you to sample the music before you buy. For your convenience, we have also built illustrated step-by-step instructions for both how to purchase and how to download our music. If after purchasing music from this Web Store and following our explicit instructions on how to download the mp3s, you are still experiencing difficulties, please email patrick@stereognosis.com. As soon as I possibly can, I will verify your payment information and email you the mp3s for which you paid. PLEASE NOTE: We do not refund the sale of mp3s for which you have ample opportunity to sample before you buy. (If the 30 second samples in the streaming mp3 player aren't long enough for you to decide, we encourage you to listen to the first track on our myspace site or the second track as a music video either on youtube, embedded on the main page of this site, or at our Facebook page.
Privacy & Security: We understand the concerns of our fans with regard to the security of their personal information. Unfortunately, in order for PayPal to accept payments by credit card, it requires certain identifying information to be entered in order to verify that you are who you say you are. Under NO circumstances will the Stereognostic Web Store deliberately use this information for any other purpose. Not even for a newsletter about Stereognosis. And certainly not for disclosure to a third party. The Maqento platform customized by ITPDX allows listeners without a pre-existing PayPal account to purchase our music without having to set up a new PayPal account. Anyone with a credit card and a valid billing address, phone number, etc. can buy this album through our site. (ITPDX's Enhanced Digital Download System also allows buyers to try before they buy and ensures smooth integration of digital media into the Magento Platform.) Eventually, we hope to sell the songs without using PayPal at all. (And as of late May, our CDs will likely become available in select record stores and CDBaby for international customers--although we may eventually resort to using iTunes or Amazon, these are not ideal options for musical artists on small independent labels...please read on.) With Magento and PayPal, we are able to charge a fair price for the music we make (in other words, a price that allows us to stand a chance of recovering the expense it took to make the music in the first place). Any independent musician can tell you how difficult this is to do...Please consider this before burning our CDs or sending our mp3s to other people for free. Bottom line, we only ask for what personal information Magento and Paypal require, and we will not deliberately use this information for any other purpose under any circumstance.
If You Lose the mp3s you purchased: Hard drives crash, iPods get lost, and sometimes when people download things online they forget where they downloaded them, or how to find them again. We understand. That's why we allow any mp3(s) you purchase to be downloaded up to two times, regardless of whether you need to re-download them in one hour, one week, or ten years. If this website is still around, we will bend over backwards to make sure you get the music you paid for.
Questions about your order?: If after reading all of this information, you still have a question about your order, as the founder of stereognosis and the administrator of this site, I will do my best to answer your question as soon as humanly possible. Only disclaimer is that I am also a medical oncology fellow, and I don't have the money to hire help for this kind of stuff. Thus, your patience is greatly appreciated.
